New Features on Blue Access for Members
On Dec.10, 2011, registered Blue Access for Members (BAM) users gained access to significant enhancements to their online account. These changes were made to improve the BAM user experience and include the addition of:
-
Health Snapshot. Group members can now view year-to-date claims dollars, spending account balances and incentive summaries, as applicable.
-
Health Care School. Members can review educational content to help them better understand health insurance coverage and how to use it. A link to this section is located under Help.
-
Interactive Tutorials. Members can access educational tutorials covering a range of conditions, including diabetes and asthma. These interactive programs offer an overview of each condition and emphasize tips to help members manage their health. These tutorials are located within the appropriate My Health topic center.
-
Member-level Access. Adult covered dependents (age 18 and older) may now access many of the same features that were previously available only to subscribers. This includes their own personal data and the following resources depending on their coverage:
-
Medical and Dental Visits and Claims – View claim summaries including member responsibility totals
-
Spending Summary – View their member-level accumulator information
-
Print Temporary ID Cards – View and print temporary ID cards
With this update, adult covered members are encouraged to register themselves by creating their personal BAM account using their own email address.
In 2012, adult covered dependents are expected to have access to the Message Center, an email tool that will allow them to send and receive secure, queued messages to/from Customer Service.
