Hello there!

After a lovely short camping trip, I'm back at work adding the final touches to the next issue of Offscreen. Later this week, I'll be picking up some initial proofs from the local printer before kicking off the print of issue #16 in Berlin in the first week of February.

In the meantime, there is still lots of work to do on the new Offscreen website and the new order management system.

I leave you with these three articles that I enjoyed reading over the weekend: We Can Fix It: Saving the Truth from the Internet and Bigotry to the rich, and the morality of work. and (something a little more uplifting) 9 Sustainable Business Stories That Shaped 2016

This Weekʼs Line-Up

A hardshell backpack
01

The Watson backpack stands out from other Kickstarted carry bags with its unique push-to-open hardshell design and a range of other interesting features. Worth a look.

Minimal SoundCloud menu bar
02

"Soundbar is a lightweight SoundCloud player for Mac. It lets you listen to music on SoundCloud while getting out of your way. It conveniently lives in the menu bar."

Beautiful hand-made leather laptop cases
03

"Otake's handmade leather laptop case is designed and crafted to last and improve over time. It has a lifetime guarantee. Each sleeve is made from vegetable tanned, chrome-free leather. Vegetable tanning is an old-world method that takes time, but yields environmentally-friendly leather that is both beautiful and enduring. Each sleeve is sewn with linen thread and tied off by hand." Currently on Kickstarter.

Organise and analyse customer data
04

NomNom integrates with many other apps that collect information about your customers and gathers them in one place to organise, analyse, and share within your team. The app also allows you to build automated actions based on rules you set. For instance, trigger a Slack alert if a certain helpdesk ticket or Intercom message arrives.

A USB hub for the new MacBook Pro
05

Stop the dongle-mania! Make your new MacBook Pro as capable as the old one with this USB-C hub that adds HDMI, USB 3.1 x 2, microSD/SD, Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C. Currently on Kickstarter.

A more enjoyable Google Calendar
06

The Clean Google Calendar Chrome extension does what its name suggests: it makes Google Calendar look nicer and launches it as a desktop application.
