We made an impact! No images? Click here ![]() ![]() Above: Strike Day, 3 September, Christchurch Kia ora Member, You certainly made an impact! The amount of media exposure and visibility your strike day had was very significant. We did capture almost all media outlets including being on the front page of the Dominion Post. It is disappointing we didn’t get TV1, despite them being at the Christchurch rally for some considerable time, filming members and interviewing myself. It was great to see members sharing their photos on social media. Check out this small selection from the NZNO Facebopok page, for example. Next steps We will hold another round of paid two-hour Union/Stopwork meetings on Wednesday 30 September (we are required to give at least 14 days notice). The time of the meetings will be advised early next week. These meetings are planned as either a report back from resumed negotiations (if they have resumed) or to discuss and confirm next steps if we have been unable to make progress. We expect that further negotiation dates will be set prior to the stop works occurring so progress may be made in terms of an improved offer. We will continue to keep the pressure on to make these negotiations happen. We are working on a new activity for the eve of Suffrage Day (Friday 18 September) linking that women's struggle to our current pay parity issue. This activity will be easy to participate in and details will be out early next week. Take care and keep safe. Ngā mihi, Chris Wilson |
