I'm excited to again participate in the Christian Alliance For Orphans Summit, May 9-11 in Dallas.
I'll be co-moderating a panel called "Understanding the Life and Heart of a Birth Mother". Our goal is to help people to understand the thinking behind a woman's decision to place her baby for adoption.
I'll also have a Coaching Table breakout session there about the daily reality of living an open adoption.

New Board Member Announcement

I'm thrilled to announce that Lysa Marcouillier-Riachy has joined the Unplanned Good Board and will be our Treasurer going forward. Lysa is a mom, a birthmom and an HR executive here in the Silicon Valley. She enjoys an open adoption and loving relationship with the daughter she placed over 30 years ago. She's looking forward to helping us spread the word about adoption as an alternative for women facing unplanned pregnancy.

Young women are 50% MORE likely to make an adoption plan when the trusted adult in their life suggests it to them. Otherwise, most girls don't give it a thought, and choose between abortion or single parenting. That's why we need to get this on the radar of more people.

We promote adoption as a positive option for those facing unplanned pregnancies. It can be so very good (and beautiful!) for all involved.

Unplanned Good is reaching out to both teens and their parents, to let them know that adoption is an option. Studies have shown that girls are 50% more likely to see their pregnancy through and make an adoption plan when an adult suggests this path.
