Work restarting under Covid-19 Alert Level 3Construction is starting up again on Dyers Pass Road as we continue work to install safety barriers. The new guardrails are being installed at high-risk locations, which should reduce the severity of crashes where vehicles would have left the road. We'll be working within Covid-19 Alert Level 3 guidelines to protect the health of our community, our staff and our contractors. Construction starts again on Wednesday and night-time road closures are restarting on Wednesday night (7pm – 6am, Sunday – Thursday). There will be several work sites operating during the day so we recommend using the Lyttelton Tunnel as an alternative route where possible. We'll be working on finishing retaining walls, drainage, safety barriers and road resealing as we return to site. Progress may be slow under Alert Level 3 restrictions, so please bear with us. Once we’re back in full swing we’ll provide an update on what the Covid-19 delay means for the completion date. We also need your help to stay safe when works resume, so please be mindful of keeping a safe distance (a minimum of two metres) from our traffic management and construction teams if you're passing through Dyers Pass Road.
