The Art League Gallery will be featuring work from their 2013 slate of solo artists in this second annual Solo Preview. From painting to photography, sculpture to drawing, this show draws from the talented pool of solo artists and offers the public a glimpse of the exciting exhibits at The Art League Gallery in the coming year. Jennifer Brewer Stone's piece Belle Aria (middle) will be on display, as well as work by Sabyna Sterrett, Linda Lawler, Noah Williams, Bob Tetro, Cindy Lewis, Everitt Clark, Thien-Kim Pham, and Nick Xhiku. Stone will have a solo show in July 2013 at the Art League Gallery.
Stone's oil paintings are alive with color, with a combination of sharp edges and detailed blending that create a hyperrealistic whole that jumps off the page. Her work stems from a desire to explore the fantastical creatures and plants that can be found in the real world, and bring them to the viewer's eye in a way that can't be ignored. An unabashed riot of colors come together in a surprisingly harmonious composition, with awe-inspiring subjects and a cheery feel.
Jennifer Brewer Stone has a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art and English Literature from the University of Maryland College Park. She lives in Arlington, VA and began painting full-time in 2008. Her artwork has been featured in Élan magazine. She has been accepted into national and international juried shows for her work on her Dance of Life Series, including ArtKudos, Art Buzz, and the Richeson 75 Wildlife competition. She was juried into the Torpedo Factory in March of 2012. See more of her work at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Old Town Alexandria, VA in Studio 32 through January 25th.
