Meeting Reminder - Thursday, November 12th

The North Central Florida Tea Party will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Jackie Taylor Building.

This month’s speaker will be Dan Peterson of the Center for Property Rights of the James Madison Institute.  Dan will be giving us a preview of the upcoming Florida Legislative Session which will begin on January 12, 2016.  He is going to share with you public policy issues to look for in the 2016 Legislative Session that affect private property (especially as it relates to environmental issues).  He will also discuss the United Nations' latest plans on global sustainability (including the Pope's Environmental Encyclical), EPA regulation of water, and proposed amendments regarding solar energy."   The Legislature is already holding Committee Hearings on the various bills so the sooner we learn about what they are contemplating, the better prepared we can be. We will have a straw poll on the Republican Presidential candidates.  Conservative groups in Florida are working together to make sure we have a good conservative candidate to vote for in the March primary.  Pick up copies of the last few editions of the American Patriot News and information on upcoming meetings. This is a great way to meet other like-minded people, get involved and help make a difference in all levels of government!  Come find out what the tea party does and find out how you can help!

We meet at the Taylor Building, 128 SW Birley Ave. Lake City.  This is on the corner of Birley and U.S. 90; approx. 3 miles west of the I-75 interchange in Lake City.  For more information, call Sharon 386-935-0821 or go to:  www.northcentralfloridateaparty.org

Happy Veteran's Day

Many thanks to all the veterans who have served our country, either here or abroad.  It always amazes me how many veterans we have in our tea party group when they are asked to remain standing for a minute before our meetings begin.

There are many restaurants and businesses that are offering special discounts and freebies on Veteran's Day.   Please check this link for where to find them:   Veteran's Day

Wreaths Across America

Yes, we have Veterans Day in the fall, and Memorial Day in the spring. But our service men and women sacrifice their time and safety every single day of the year, to preserve our freedoms.

At many homes, there is an empty seat for one who is serving, or one who made the ultimate sacrifice for our Country. We honor our veterans every day. And we think there is no better time to express our appreciation, than during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

We hope you will join us at any of our 700+ participating locations, to show our veterans and their families - that we will not forget. We will never forget.

There are a number of ways for volunteers to get involved. Please keep in mind there is NO COST to attend or participate in a Wreaths Across America™ event.

Please go to:  Wreaths for more information.

Gracie will be at our meeting on Thursday if anyone is interested in sponsoring a wreath!
