The BID is going to be working on your behalf via a monthly meeting with representatives from Trafford Council and Amey to log issues raised and track their progress through to resolution.

Goose Green Festival Line-up announced

 

The Goose Green Festival is back for a 4th year with two jam-packed days of live music over the August bank holiday weekend (Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th August). A festival which showcases unsigned talent, a fabulous food and drink offering from the Goose Green bars and restaurants, and a unique location in the town square which won't turn into a mud bath, whatever the weather the week before!

Entry to the festival is FREE, with live music, food and drink from Goose Green bars and restaurants from 12pm-8pm on both days.

Why not join the floral extravaganza which takes place in Altrincham from Saturday 14th – Sunday 22nd July?

There'll be a 'Best in Show' Business front competition, floristry workshops, children’s activities, fantastic offers throughout the town and a free shuttle bus to RHS Tatton Park from the flowery bus stop at Altrincham Interchange.

Goose Green Festival

The tours have been curated by award-winning tour guide, Jonathan Schofield and promise to be informative and entertaining.  All BID Businesses have been invited to join the BID team on a pre-launch tour.  There are limited spaces remaining on Thursday 28th June and Saturday 30th June, let us know if you’d like to join one of these BID Business networking events.

The tours launch to the public on Thursday 26th July, tickets are priced at £10 and can be purchased via Eventbrite.

Halloween Shout out!

Altrincham town centre

We’re looking for venues around the town to host some spectacularly spooky Halloween installations in October.  

There are several ways to get involved no matter how much space you have:

  • Include a 'clue' in your businesses window or drop-in to find a 'clue'.
  • Host an installation. Venues must have a 4m square space, the installation will be set up on Wednesday 17th October and broken down on Thursday 1st November but would need to be available to the public from 9am-5.30pm between Saturday 20th October and Wednesday 31st October.

New BID Board Members

The BID Board is pleased to welcome two new members; Philippa Wright, McHale & Co Solicitors and Jonathan Shingfield from The Contemporary.  

The BID Board oversee the work of the BID team and each business sector is represented by a Board member. Jonathan will be representing the independent businesses and Philippa will represent the professional services sector.

The two new members will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge as we continue to focus on raising Altrincham’s profile as a vibrant town centre whilst developing projects which support business performance across all sectors.

 

 
 

FREE Retail Bootcamps in July

Altrincham-based business advisor Matchbox Associates is running a fully funded programme of Retail Boot Camps in July to help independent retailers make the most of their business. Over a three week period you can learn:

  • How to create the best customer experience - why customers come back for more
  • Practical business tools – to support forecasting, cost management, best practice
  • The psychology of customer behaviour - managing customer engagement
  • Your business ambition - being clear on what your business needs to deliver to you, and making it happen
  • What makes a positive selling environment

Attendees must be based in the Greater Manchester area, and have 3 staff or more. If you’re based in Altrincham and you want to improve the way you run your business, then please contact jaan@matchboxassociates.co.uk by Monday 2 July.

The sessions will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-10 at a location in central Altrincham.  The first session will be Tuesday 10 July.

 
 

Best Bar None Scheme

Best Bar None is an Accreditation Scheme with National Awards supported by the Home Office and the drinks industry which is aimed primarily at promoting responsible management and operation of alcohol licensed premises. 

We would like to encourage as many licensed premises as possible in Altrincham to join the scheme. Altrincham members of the scheme are also signed up to a WhatsApp group to help with communication of issues and problems

The purpose of the Best Bar None Scheme:

  • To reduce alcohol related crime and disorder
  • To build a positive relationship between licensed trade, police and local authorities and the private sector
  • To improve knowledge and skills of enforcement and regulation agencies, licensees and bar staff to help them responsibly manage licensed premises

Cardboard Recycling Survey

Altrincham Unlimited are currently working in partnership with TfGM to explore ways to reduce congestion and improve air quality on the streets of Altrincham, whilst also saving money for BID members.

One area in particular is around joint procurement for shared services such as waste and recycling. This has proven to save businesses money and reduce congestion on our roads.

Please complete the survey which will give us valuable information about current operations in Altrincham and will allow us to assess potential savings and well as the appetite for a scheme like this. To complete survey Click here
