Research Update

Good afternoon,

Linked below is the State Shipments for September 2018.

Here are a few key findings:

  • U.S. beer shipment volume decreased by 1.9% during September 2018 and is now down 0.9% year-to-date.
  • This year, the Friday before Labor Day took place at the end of August rather than the beginning of September.  As such, September lost that critical sell day.
  • Shipment volume was up 3% on a selling day adjusted basis using the standard approach, which does not account for qualitative differences among selling days lost or gained.
