Membership Renewal Update

Dear Members,
I am pleased to advise that NWT Tourism will be offering complimentary membership again this year. We recognize the continuing struggles of tourism operators in the NWT and are constantly advocating on behalf of the industry, within the territory and on the national front. I would like to send a big thank you to all of you who have kept in touch with our office over the course of this pandemic. Understanding your struggles, and hearing your kind words of encouragement, keep us energized in our advocacy and marketing efforts. We continue to be stronger together.

We need your help
As you know, NWT Tourism has been working diligently on keeping our destination alive in the hearts and minds of future travellers. It would greatly help our efforts if you would consider sharing photo or video assets of your business with us. In doing so, you would be assisting us in continuing to promote your business. Many members have listings without images, and there are times, in the work that we do, that we would love to feature an image of your business in our publications and our ads. If you do have images that you are proud of, please share an image or two, or a short video, with NWT Tourism! Contact: erica@spectacularnwt.com.

For all members who paid for membership in 2020, we will automatically apply this payment to your membership fees in 2022 unless you direct us otherwise. Should you wish to instead obtain a refund on the membership fees you paid in 2020, please contact Erica Lee in our office: erica@spectacularnwt.com and she will assist you.

As a reminder, here are just a few highlights of the benefits of membership in NWT Tourism.

• Membership gives your listing higher prominence on the spectacularnwt.com website - members show up at the top of all lists.
• Members have priority over non-members on all co-operative advertising opportunities.
• Members can participate, free of charge, in all of the Spectacular Staycation initiatives which include free advertising and other opportunities.
• Only members in good standing can list packages on the spectacularnwt.com website free of charge (up to a maximum of three free packages per fiscal year).
• Provided you are an eligible voting member in good standing by no later than July 31, 2021, you will have the ability to vote in the online election for the Board of Directors in the fall, and on important issues at the NWT Tourism Annual General Meeting (AGM).
• As a member of NWT Tourism, you are on our mailing list to receive e-blasts from us containing information and updates that are valuable to your business and our industry.
• And, especially important right now, we continuously advocate on behalf of our industry members with all levels of government on items of importance to our industry.
