Through May 5
Multimedia Classroom Building, first- and second- floor hallways

“Even Better Shades of Grey” includes works created by students in the Visual Concepts class. It was organized by Avantika Bawa, assistant professor of fine arts. It includes a series of painterly sculptures that explore the possibilities of the black-and-white value scale. Students worked with the principles of repetition and continuity in design, while exploring painting styles that are traditional as well as experimental. These pieces combine approaches that include the predictable and the unpredictable through processes that are cathartic, intuitive and also plan- and rule-based. What results is a collection of unique works that showcase “better shades of grey.”
