Louisville, Anyone??
UPG at CAFO in May!We've just learned that our workshop proposal has been accepted for the national CAFO Conference in early May 2019 in Louisville, KY. I'm teaming up with the local Real Options/Obria women's clinic on a workshop about successfully presenting adoption as an option when women learn they're facing an unplanned pregnancy. We're calling it, "The Tough Sell: Suggesting Adoption in Pregnancy/Medical Clinics. The subtitle is, What happens after, “… I could never do
that!” We hope to empower clinic staff to suggest adoption more confidently and communicate about adoption more effectively. UPG has presented at three prior CAFO events, which has been so rewarding. This year we'll discuss how to talk about adoption when women are facing a surprise (unplanned) pregnancy. Should be exciting!
Heartbeat Conf is Still On the Calendar, too!Yes, it will be a crazy Spring! I mentioned last month that I'm teaming up with Lifetime Adoptions to present at the Heartbeat Conference in April in Dallas. Our topic for this new workshop is post-placement support for birthparents. It's our hope that society will start to do a better job -- do more! -- to support these women after they choose adoption for their babies.
Heartbeat is holding their 48th Annual Pregnancy Help Conference this year. Check out details here.

We accomplished so much in 2018, thanks to your support and donations. Our December newsletter provided a summary.
Suggesting Adoption:
Top 3 Questions to ExpectWhen you have that chance to suggest adoption, you might feel more confident if you know what to expect. The top three questions you may be asked are: - Will My Child Understand My Adoption Decision?
- What Will My Child Think of Me?
- How Do Adopted Children Feel About Being Adopted?
Here's a
short video and here's an article that gives more background on the topic. Be ready to advocate for adoption 24/7, any time the opportunity presents itself!
You can also read stories on our site from people who were adopted. Find out their thoughts first hand! Click here.
With two conference workshops to present this Spring (above), we'd appreciate some help funding those two trips across the country. You can donate just once or set up a monthly donation.
Thank you so much for helping us spread the word about adoption as an option.
DID YOU KNOW? - Fewer than 0.5% of women facing unplanned pregnancy make an adoption plan?
- When they do, it's because an adult in their life encouraged them to consider adoption?
- There are over one million U.S. couples waiting now to adopt?

Why are we doing this?
Young women are 50% MORE likely to make an adoption plan when the trusted adult in their life suggests it to them. Otherwise, most girls don't give it a thought and choose between abortion or single parenting. That's why we need to get this on the radar of more people.
