New Memorandum of Understanding between NSW Health and Corrective Services NSW

After extensive consultation the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between NSW Health and Corrective Services NSW has been finalised.  The MOU, and supporting documents, can be found here (please note you will need to be logged into the NSW Health network to access).

Underpinning the document is the principle that staff safety, for both Agencies, remains the priority when providing care to custodial patients.  The MOU also sets out the roles of staff in each Agency and provides local and statewide escalation processes where issues are experienced involving the operation of the MOU.

Local Health Districts, Networks and NSW Ambulance have been asked to ensure staff are aware of the MOU and that the local procedures necessary to operational the MOU are developed as a matter of priority.  If you have any questions please contact MOH-WR-Security@health.nsw.gov.au.
