Feature: "Let's Talk About Drugs" National Media Awards 2012

BelongToThe "Let's Talk About Drugs" Media Awards were created to encourage the journalists, reporters, film enthusiasts and animators of tomorrow to start writing and talking about the drugs and alcohol issue in Ireland today.

These awards are aimed at primary and secondary school students, college students and aspiring members of the media, to stimulate debate around the drugs and alcohol issue in Irish communities.

The awards competition allows entrants to educate themselves and others about drugs and alcohol through cartoon strips, audio features, film, animated videos or newspaper articles. The winning submissions will be published or broadcast through print, online channels and community radio in May. Competition winners will also receive prizes of notebook computers and digital cameras.

The latest drugs.ie feature provides further information about the awards, entry forms, tips for entering, and a selection of winning entries from last years awards.

Focus: Paddy's Day Funky Seomra

Service DirectoryThe Funky Seomra is an Irish based alcohol and drug free nightclub.

Since its inception in Dublin's Cultivate Center in 2007, the event has grown in popularity, and as a result, it has moved across town to a larger venue: to the RDS Concert Hall.

Visitors to the Funky Seomra can expect all the usual trappings a typical nightclub has to offer: music; dance floor; lights; visual effects; refreshments; chill out areas; cloakroom; and party atmosphere. The most discernable difference between 'The Seomra' and its licenced counterparts is, you gussed it, the lack of alcohol on sale!

The next Funky Seomra event is on Paddy's Day in the RDS.
