The Southern Delivery System (SDS) project will host job fairs in July in Pueblo and Colorado Springs to share employment opportunities on construction of the water treatment plant and raw water pump stations.
The water treatment plant prime contractor McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. and the pump stations prime contractor Archer Western Construction, LLC will provide information on upcoming construction jobs for carpenters, pipe fitters, plumbers, equipment operators, those qualified in gang and deck forming systems, general laborers, and other services.
Labor needs at each site will fluctuate to support new activities under way. At the height of construction, hundreds of workers are anticipated to be active at the sites and there will be numerous employment opportunities for individuals specializing in various trades. Water delivery will begin in 2016 to the SDS project partner communities including Colorado Springs, Security, Fountain and Pueblo West.
