Time-saving: Upload report templates for all systems

We have made it easier for you to upload report templates: from the February release, users from the new administrator group can upload report templates which will be available for all systems. The files will be placed in the “Report templates” folder for this purpose. Via the replacement function, these templates can be updated without the sending options being lost.

New: VCOM API for data retrieval and connection to third-party providers

With the new VCOM API (Application Programming Interface), we offer a modern interface for retrieving data and connecting VCOM to systems from third-party providers. With the VCOM API, you can retrieve both measurement data and technical data for your systems. The interface also allows access to your tickets.

For greater security: new password guidelines

In order to protect your data even better in the future, we have updated our password guidelines.

Did you know that the number of characters used has a particularly big influence on the strength of a password? Long passwords without special characters, numbers and capital letters may even be more secure than shorter, supposedly more complicated passwords. For example, it will take on average three years of online attacks to crack the password “solarplant” – although it is relatively easy to remember. In contrast, it will take hackers just 13 days on average to crack the much more complicated password “$0L@R”.

We have therefore decided to increase the minimum password length to 10 characters. When entering your password, you will be given tips as to how to make it more secure.

On 31.03.2017, the wireless routers in the MoRoS range with a HSPA and GPRS modem will be discontinued:

• VPN wireless router MoRoS HSPA PRO: Item number 422.407
• VPN wireless router MoRoS GPRS PRO: Item number 422.408

The MoRoS routers will be available until 31.03.2017 while stocks last. If your desired product is no longer available, we will contact you to arrange delivery of an appropriate replacement item. Naturally, we will continue to handle service requests and warranty claims for these products.

The proven routers in the EBW range are available as a replacement product. The HSPA, LTE modem or Ethernet router variants are ideal for most applications and are reliable components for the remote monitoring and controlling PV systems with the meteocontrol monitoring system.
