A Royal Summer


As well as the exciting news of the Royal birth,
we have been blessed with the most gorgeous summer.

At the Nest, we have had many a late evening hosting guests under the stars and long, hot lazy lunches under the shade of our sycamore tree.

From the 9th August, on Friday's and Saturday's, fresh Lobster will be available too,
served with salad and fries - simple yet delicious!

Kate's Great Escape

Thank you to all those that took part in this vintage car rally organised by Schotten Antiques to raise funds for Kate's Home Nursing.

All entrants started off at The Nest with a complimentary breakfast to see them
on their way for a treasure hunt. (View photographs.)

The event raised just under £10,000 - a terrific amount and we are just delighted that we could be a small part of this and that these funds are going to a fantastic local charity.
Well done to all involved!

Caribbean Supper

Friday, 6th September

Just to see out our Summer properly , we have decided to organise a Caribbean buffet with Rum Punches and live Calypso music (hopefully to be held outside on our terrace!).  Of course we'd love to see you in your flowery shirts just one more time before the Autumn!

£20 per person - menu will be made available online soon.
Booking is essential for this evening.



Wine Tasting by Seresin

Thursday, 3rd October

We will be hosting a five-course tasting dinner with wine accompaniment from Seresin Vineyard, Marlborough, New Zealand.

If you would like to attend to sample and find out about these gorgeous wines,
please phone 01993 833030 to reserve a place as seating is limited.  
A deposit is required at time of booking.



The Food

Kuba, our Head Chef, is always cooking up some beautiful new dishes and included over
the next month expect to find Goose Liver Mousse with Spiced Cherries;
Chilled Garden Lovage soup; Mussels in Cider, Melon, marinated Feta and Kalamata olive salad; Brill, crab with black rice noodles samphire and sea lettuce; Lamb rump baked in hay; Courgette Flower tempura with pea and broad bean agnolotti;
and desserts of Summer Berry Pudding and classic Peach Melba.

The Pint

Purity's Ubu (4.5%) Premium Amber Ale joins Prescott Brewery's Hill Climb (3.8%) and Ringwood's Boondoggle (4.2%) as our summer selection of Cask Ales. 

Peroni and Amstel lagers, extra-cold Guinness and Thatchers Gold Somerset Cider available on tap, whilst chilled Pimm's and Bollinger Champagne is ready to be served on our patio for those warmer sunny days.
