NSW Minister's & Secretary's Awards for Excellence

Applications for the 2018 NSW Minister’s and Secretary’s Awards for Excellence are now open. These prestigious awards are a way of thanking our teachers, leaders, support staff and parents for their outstanding contribution to our public schools and for making a difference to the lives of students across the state.

The awards acknowledge excellence in NSW schools across a range of categories:

  • Minister’s Award for Excellence in Student Achievement
  • Minister’s Award for Excellence in Teaching
  • Secretary’s Award for Excellent Service
  • Secretary’s Award for an Outstanding School Initiative
  • Secretary’s School Achievement Award
  • Public School Parent of the Year Award

Applications for the 2018 Minister’s and Secretary’s Awards for Excellence close on 19 June 2018.  An Awards Ceremony will be held in September 2018.  Please email us for more information about these awards.

Premier's Teachers Scholarship

Premier's Teachers Scholarship

The 2019 Premier’s Teacher Scholarships are now open! All teachers in schools or TAFE colleges/campuses across NSW are encouraged to apply for a Premier’s Teacher Scholarship. The scholarships are a life changing professional development experience for teachers and students. Thanks to the generosity of our corporate supporters and private foundations there are 22 scholarships on offer for 2019. Applications close 11 May 2018, so if you have an idea and would like to see some best practice education methods in a live teaching environment to help develop and inspire teachers across NSW apply now.

Save The Date

On Monday, 21 May 2018 the Public Education Foundation will host its annual awards night. Over 200 students from across the country will receive scholarships and talented performers from the Arts Unit will showcase their dance and music skills. Tickets to the event will be available next week. Please email for more information. 

 

Fair Funding Now

A community of people, parents, teachers, principals and citizens have launched a new #FairFundingNow campaign to demand fair funding of public schools.

2018 Patrick White Writing Competition

These Awards have been designed to encourage Indigenous Australian students in Kindy to Year 12 studying in NSW to use their reading, writing, and creative skills to submit a short story, poem or play.

Themes for 2018,  Kindergarten to Year 12 

  • "What Have I done?"
  • "Swimming"
  • "The Long Walk."

Group Competition - Years K-3 

The Group section of the competition is offered to support Aboriginal students working together with their classmates to develop a shared story, poem or play.

*We have created a Group Entry Form to make entering a class group more simple 

Applications close on September 28. 

These awards are open to all Indigenous Australian students in NSW from Kindergarten through to Year 12.
