Australian Adventure Passport

The Australian Adventure Passport is becoming a very popular tool for travellers to collect stamps and memories from participating tourism products across Australia. 

This 32 page souvenir book is produced by Rothwell Publishing and travellers can purchase the passport online and at participating outlets.

Official Opening of Shared Trail

Tablelands Outdoor Recreation Association Inc are pleased to advise that the official opening of the shared trail between Platypus Park and Hastie Road is being held on Saturday 23 March 2019 at 11.00am near the beginning of the trail (and Station Cafe), Weaver Street, Atherton.  

The trail was constructed as part of a grant that TORA obtained from the Queensland Government's Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing's Get Playing Places and Spaces Program and through cooperation with the Atherton Herberton Historic Railway group.

You are all invited to come along and take a walk or ride along the trail, and share in the celebratory cake cutting!  It will also give you a chance to hear about future plans for the region.

 
 

North Queensland Drifta Fan Event 2019

The Drifta Camping and 4WD Fan Event for 2019 has been confirmed to be held at Lake Tinaroo Holiday Park from August 9th to 11th August.

Organizers are expecting up to 200 fans to attend this popular event.  These events are for anyone who is a fan of Drifta; it doesn’t even matter if you don’t own a single product (yet). Fans get together, share stories, share ideas and enjoy the Drifta Camping lifestyle.

Operators who wish to be involved in this 3 day event by the way of offering vouchers, food tasting or prizes for the raffle to support the NQ Flood victims, especially the farmers out West, contact the event organizer Buck Rogers on 0406 660 215. 

 
 
 

Effective Financial Management Workshop

Establish, understand and use financial and related information as a tool to manage your business effectively.

This free workshop has a focus on enabling SME Managers and Owners to become more confident with finance terminology and to understand the linkage between effective financial management and your business strategies.

Participants will gain an understanding of how to structure a business to ensure best practices in financial management are embedded into everyday operations, including:

  • How to understand financial reports
  • What is the Chart of Accounts and is yours poorly designed?
  • The importance of Cash Flow projections and management
  • What your Balance Sheet shows you about the business
  • Understanding your Profit and Loss report
  • Using financial reports in business decision making including the importance of budget processes and financial forecasting
  • Protecting the business with internal controls
  • Introducing accountability through reporting
  • Identifying typical financial risks for SMEs
  • Exploring the linkage between financial management and delivering on future plans and strategies
  • Developing an understanding of your legal responsibilities as a Director, Owner and/or Manager.

Tablelands Regional Council has partnered with AusIndustry through the Entrepreneur’s Programme to deliver this free workshop in Atherton.
