The Digital Show 2012

The Digital Show kicks off this Friday at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre and we will have their biggest stand yet!  The Digital Show is the largest photographic show in the Southern Hemisphere and provides a great opportunity to see anything AND everything photographic!  From albums to cameras, from lenses to software - this one show has the lot.

We will showcase our entire range of products including albums, portfolios, photo mounts and wall art and will also be exhibiting our new Portrait Suites, Society Collection by Jerry Ghionis and our stunning Backdrops and Faux Floors, imported from the USA.  We also have 5 amazing photographers speaking all day, every day! 

The Digital Show runs from the 25th to the 27th of May and also includes the Australian Professional Photography Awards judging, which is located just near our booth.  This is a great chance to view entries to this years awards and hear fellow photographers critique the entries.  Please drop by our booth (number 54) and say hello to the Seldex team!

Speaker Schedule

For the last 3 years we have had some amazing speakers featured on our booth at The Digital Show and this year is no different!  The following speakers will be speaking each day on our booth.

10.00am - Liam Schembri - You Select It software
You Select It is an amazing piece of album designing software created by Master Photographer Martin Schembri.  Drop by our booth to see Liam demonstrate the awesome "auto album" feature in the software which allows you to automatically create an entire wedding album in a couple of very easy steps!

11.00am - Sue Bryce - Sue Bryce Photographer

Multi-talented Sue Bryce, is a Master Photographer, Artist, Illustrator, and anthropologist. Her style of contemporary fashion-inspired portraiture gives her clients the experience of looking like the women in magazines and feeling beautiful. Sessions are designed to pamper and celebrate everything about her clients. Sue believes beauty is not on the outside, it’s something that shines out when you love who you are.

Sue has received many awards for her work, including Portrait Photographer of the Year 2007 and Highest Scoring Print 2008 by the New Zealand Institute Professional Photography Master National Awards, and Portrait Photographer of the Year 2011 and Highest Scoring Print 2009 by the Australian Institute Professional Photography Master National Awards.

Sue has spoken on our booth for the last 2 years and it is strictly standing room only!  Don't miss this inspirational talk on "Entice marketing, desirable product - SELL IT".

12 noon - Matt Ebenezer - Matt & Katie

Matt Ebenezer is one half of the highly successful team of Matt and Katie Photographers based in Toowoomba, Qld.  Matt and Katie have a successful business plan they have been refining for the past 6 years.  They have developed their skills in marketing and sales to suit the lifestyle they want, and their business works for them instead of the other way round.  Matt's talk will focus on "Practical ways to rock your portrait sales (even if you aren't a natural sales person)" - something all of us need to know!

1.00pm - Angie Baxter - Angie Baxter Photography

Angie Baxter is a well known name in family portraits. Not only does she run her own very busy and successful business capturing natural and joyful family moments, but she also runs workshops for budding photographers and those getting started in the professional photography industry.

Angie is fun, funky and unconventional. She takes her shoes off when she shoots. She laughs easily and often. She’ll probably give you a hug the first time she meets you.  And she is one of the lovliest people I know!!  Angie will be speaking on "The Art of Interviewing Children" - A Fun Way to take Great Photos of Kids!  I encourage all children portrait photographers to line up early for front row seats!

2.00pm - Graham Monro - GM Photographics

Graham Monro is a Sydney based professional photographer and the founder of one of Australia’s leading wedding and portrait studios - gm photographics.  Graham has shot the likes of Brooke Shields, Princess Diana, Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth II. gm photographics was also the chosen wedding photographer for many Aussie celebs including Guy Sebastian, Lizzy Lovette and Ada Nicodemou and most recently took out the coveted title NSW AIPP Family Photographer of the Year 2012.

Graham's one hour talk will cover "Capturing the right shots for wedding and portrait album sales".   If you want to increase your wedding and portrait album sales then THIS is one hour in your life you can't afford to miss!|

3.00pm - Robert Chomaniuk - Newlook Image Design

Robert Chomaniuk is the brains (and brawn) behind Newlook Image Design.  The goal of the Newlook team is to help you, the photographer, free yourself from day to day tasks of RAW file processing, image retouching and designing albums.  They hope to free up your time to shoot more, see more clients and develop your business.

Rob's talk will focus on "Principles of good wedding album design" - an extremely important subject for all professionals wanting to increase their album sales.
