2nd Grade eNews

It’s been a cold, but fun week!

Next Week

  • Bible - We will continue to work on Elijah, using I Kings 18:1-45.
  • Memory Verse - 2 Corinthians 3:12, “Therefore, having such a hope, we use great boldness.”
  • Reading - We will be reading a story about Helen Keller and learning about biographies and the difference between fact and opinion.
  • Spelling - We will continue to work with words with the final stable syllable (c)le. This week we will have words with double consonants. When the consonant -le ending follows a short vowel sound, the first letter of the ending is usually doubled.  Here are a few examples:  middle    apple   cattle   sniffle   bubble
  • Grammar - We will work on capitalizing proper nouns such as the months of the year, days of the week, and book titles.
  • Math - Our new skill will be learning how to measure capacity with cups, pints, quarts, and gallons. We will also continue to work with addition and subtraction, carrying with three digit numbers, and word problems.

Parent Incentive Program

As Northwest Arkansas continues to grow, we want the influence of Christ to grow as well. We need your help to introduce us to like-minded families that want to raise their children in a Christian environment. We want to partner with our current Shiloh parents so you can invite others to join the Shiloh family!

Shiloh parents will receive a $300 check in February 2020 for any student that completes the admission process, is accepted, begins attending, and their account is current as of February 15th. Please contact Alicia Brown at aliciab@shilohsaints.org with questions about admissions or the incentive program!
