Harold Hawthorne Community Centre turns 50 Since 1968 the Harold Hawthorne Community Centre has helped people stay independent and get involved in the community. Based in Carlisle, their services and facilities include a vibrant community centre, an over 55’s village, home and community support, Meals on Wheels and more! Summer Street PartyCelebrate the ‘Summer of Love’ with us at our Summer Street Party, Sunday 9 December, 12noon–8pm. Presented by Kleenheat, the family friendly event will feature live entertainment, market stalls, music workshops, love locks, face painting, street performers, grommet food and more! Streetscape characterWe're also asking you to give us your thoughts about development in the Town's character areas, the retention of older homes and the effect this has on a street's character?We want to know as we are considering changes to our planning framework in relation to development within the Residential Character Study Area (RCSA), located between Berwick Street and the railway line. Tell us how you value streetscape character and the role you'd like to see the Town play in protection and development potential. Environmental PlanWe’re committed to conserving, enhancing and rehabilitating the Town's natural assets. Although this reasonability is shared with other spheres of government, we at the Town of Victoria Park implement programs in partnership with the community to aid environmental management. We call this our Environmental Plan. Our 2013–2018 Environmental Plan is about to end, meaning a new plan needs to be created. Phase one is about to begin and we need your help! We’re searching for community feedback and suggestions about what you would like to see in future environmental management. To do this, click the button below. Summer swim schoolThe Aqualife Centre has just launched its summer swim school program. From 17–21 December kids can improve their skills, gain confidence in the water and (of course) have fun, all for just $10 per lesson.
