CPC Manhattan’s ECLW Launches 30-Hour Cohort Virtual Training in Chinese and SpanishEarly Childhood Learning and Wellness Services (ECLW) is pleased to announce its first virtual 30-Hour Cohort Training in Chinese for licensed family child care providers took place on June 20th with 48 licensed family child providers in attendance. These training courses are designed to help fulfill the requirements for license renewal.
CPC Project Gateway Hosts Virtual Transition Fair for Incoming College FreshmanOn June 12th, CPC Project Gateway and EastBridge Foundation hosted a Virtual Transition Fair for high school seniors to discuss their expectations and hear tips on how to prepare for the transition into college. Our young adult community members enjoyed the opportunity to network with rising college sophomores and receive tips on how to maximize their college experience.
Students Create Census Campaign: More Than Just a NumberA group of high school students, CPC Service Learners, reached more than 1000 people through their online efforts in three languages. We encourage you to extend the reach by sharing these posters about the importance of the Census and, of course, filling out the Census too!

In Memory of Man Chiu Wong, CPC Chinatown Senior Center It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Man Chiu Wong. Mr. Wong was an employee of CPC Chinatown Senior Center, working to make the center a wonderful and joyous place for all he interacted with. All of Mr. Wong's coworkers and members of the senior center send wishes of love and peace to the family during this difficult time.
CPC Brooklyn Community Services Director Steve Mei Discusses Food Insecurity at MOFAD CPC Brooklyn Community Services Director Steve Mei joined a panel to discuss food insecurity in Asian American communities as part of a series called "The Takeout" which explores the inordinate impact that COVID-19 is having on Asian American communities and food businesses. The virtual event was hosted on June 24th by the Museum of Food and Drink (MOFAD).

CPC Project Gateway Director Suzan Lam Speaks on Resource Navigation Panel On June 24th, Suzan Lam, Director of CPC Project Gateway, spoke on a panel hosted by JobsFirstNYC and United Way NYC regarding current and future job opportunities in the healthcare sector. Suzan spoke on the panel about CPC's participation in the Resource Navigators initiative along with the Mayor's Office of Workforce Development and Coursera, the online learning platform that developed the Contact Tracing training.
CPC Statement on the New York City FY21 Adopted Budget During a difficult budget year that coincided with an unprecedented national conversation about public health, economic inequity, and racial justice, the Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) is grateful to the City Council for fiercely standing up for their values and fighting for needed restorations in New York’s most marginalized communities.
CPC President and CEO Wayne Ho Speaks at Virtual Nonprofit OpConCPC President and CEO Wayne Ho spoke at a session on what offices will look like during and after COVID-19 recovery and the role of technology in planning. The two-day virtual event, Nonprofit OpCon, was hosted by NYNMedia on June 24th and 25th.
Project Reach Participates in Give Out Day In honor of Pride Month, CPC Project Reach and our community members participated in Give Out Day on June 30th. CPC Project Reach is a multiracial, multi-gender, anti-discrimination, youth organizing center with a commitment to challenging the identity destruction among New York City's disparate youth communities.

Many of our services are now available via virtual/remote access. We will be providing one-on-one career counseling, resume reviewing, searching and applying for jobs, and more. To get started, simply fill out a short info form at https://tiny.cc/cpccareercenter. Staff from the Career Center will respond within two business days with the next steps.
