Kelowna, BC: October is small business month and Downtown Kelowna is celebrating with the third Small Shop Saturday of 2012, this Saturday (October 13).
Downtown Kelowna recognizes that small businesses play a vital role in Kelowna’s local economy, not to mention provide jobs and preserve the Downtown neighbourhood. Did you know that in BC, more than one million people are employed by small business? Or that 98% of all businesses in BC are small businesses? Small business is big business in BC!
This Saturday over 80 participating businesses Downtown Kelowna are showing what they do best.
As an added bonus the Downtown Kelowna Association has worked with the city to provide FREE PARKING at all street level, parking lots and parkades Downtown this Saturday to make it easier for the public to visit Downtown Kelowna.
Small business is the lifeblood of our community. Owning and operating your own business is no easy task. It’s work that requires immense courage, imagination, dedication and drive. Recognize Downtown Kelowna small business, as well as their owners and employees by getting out and supporting them. One purchase is all it takes to make a big difference. They are vital to the health and growth of our City. Kelowna would not be the same without our small-business owners.
