Meet Our New and Freshly Recertified Licensees!We're thrilled to welcome our newest licensees to the GECA licensee family. Cleanaway is Australia’s leading integrated waste management, industrial, health, and environmental services company. Their team of more than 6,000 highly trained staff is supported by a fleet of over 4,000 specialist vehicles working from approximately 250 locations across
Australia. They have certified under our Waste Collection Services standard. Schiavello is a top 100 Australian private company built on quality, service excellence, and innovation. They have been creating and servicing world-class work and living environments for over 50 years. They have certified under our Furniture, Fittings, Foam & Mattresses (Level A) and Furniture & Fittings (Level B) standards. And congratulations to Shaw Contract Group, and Italplast who have recently renewed their GECA certification, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to having a lower environmental, health, and social impact!
New Claims Licensees!Congratulations to our two new Claims Authentication Licensees for going beyond a self-declared claim and PROVING their claim via independent third-party assurance! Cleanbarrow has had the following claim authenticated - "SLURRYTUB filters the sediment from cement slurry, allowing for safe disposal or recycling of the dried cement and cleared water". SLURRYTUB is a patented and Australian owned and made portable filtering system invented by a builder after witnessing repeated environmental damage to our gardens, roads, and stormwater systems. Officeworks has had ten recycled content claims authenticated for 54 products. Officeworks is dedicated to operating in a sustainable manner, including building and
maintaining meaningful connections with the communities in which it operates, fundraising for its national partners and local community groups, continuing to reduce its impact on the environment and source responsibly.
Have Your Say on GECA’s Updated Standards! Industry sectors are continually evolving, and we believe it’s vital that we continue to monitor our standards for relevance. This means that we review our standards every seven years or earlier. New draft versions of GECA’s Cleaning Services (CSv2.0-2020), Carpets (Cv3.0-2020), Floor Coverings (FCv3.0-2020) and Panel Boards (PBv3.0-2020) standards are now available for public comment. GECA welcomes comments on each standard from the public and industry professionals until 12 February 2021.

Deepali Ghadge Joins LFIA's Technical Working GroupEarlier this month, the Living Future Institute of Australia (LFIA) announced the appointment of its first industry-lead Technical Working Group (TWG) after a public call for expressions of interest. Our Standards & Technical Officer, Deepali Ghadge, is one of the 18 appointed members of the TWG, representing experts from a broad range of industries, organisations and experiences.
GECA Joins Businesses and Organisations in Calling for the Government to Adopt the Climate Change BillIn November, as a member of the B Corp Climate Collective, GECA joined leaders in business, technology, finance, environment, and health to write a joint letter to all Members of Federal Parliament urging them to adopt the Climate Change Bill.
Jess Mutton Completes SA8000 Training!Last month our Business Development & Project Manager, Jess Mutton, completed the SA8000 Standard Introduction & Basic Auditor Training with Social Accountability International. The SA8000 Standard is a world-leading social certification program, providing a framework for businesses around the fair treatment of workers.
