With just a couple hours left before landfall in southwest Florida, Hurricane Ian is a Category 4 storm with windspeeds of 155 MPH. It is quite possible that it may make Category 5 if windspeeds reach 157 MPH. It is looking to be the strongest storm to hit this area in 100 years — with some estimates predicting up to an 18 foot storm surge.
Please pray for all who are in the path of this horrific storm, and also for all responders.
Disaster Services Director, Joey Stoltzfus, is enroute to Atlanta where he will be meeting veteran HFI Reservist, George Camp. First thing Thursday morning, they will make their way towards the Fort Myers / Sarasota area where Hope Force has several contacts and connections. They will conduct initial assessments.
If you are able to respond to this call for help, or even think that you might be available, please contact deployment@hopeforce.org.
