We are following the Government guidelines for COVID-19, which means that construction work on the Lyttelton Harbour Wastewater Project is on hold until further notice. This is to keep our contractors, staff and communities safe and to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We will get in touch again when we know when work will start again. For now, everyone should stay at home, as this is the best thing we can all do to stop the spread of COVID-19. Where are we up to?Last month we completed a major part of the project, which involved closing off part of Ferry Road to install 535 metres of wastewater pipeline under the Ferry Road roundabout and Heathcote River. We've now laid 4.2 kilometres of the Heathcote Valley pipeline. Across the hill, our contractors have added walls and a roof to the Simeon Quay pump station and completed testing and commissioning the Diamond Harbour and Cashin Quay pump stations. For now, our contractors have tidied up and made these work sites safe during the COVID-19 lockdown. If you have any concerns about our work sites, you can ring Fulton Hogan on 027 604 9335 or 027 616 3929, or contact Council on 0800 800 169 to report any issues. Ferry Road pipe pullHere are some photos from last month's Ferry Road pipe pull. The team worked around the clock to manoeuvre the pipeline from the paddocks next to State Highway 74 into position along the westbound lane of Ferry Road. Once it was in place, we pulled it through the pre-drilled hole under the river and out the other side. Great work, team!
