Hazy Days of Summer

It's been hazy, occasionally crazy, (did you hear about our secret supper?) and yes, we have been a little lazy....We might prefer to bask in glorious sunshine all day but there is work to be done and in the continuum that is running an art gallery there are places to go people to see.
A quick visit to the Royal Academy Summer Show  where, we are proud to boast, three of our Gallery Artists, Arthur Neal, Louise Balaam and Susan Bower have been selected for this years hang.  We have some fine pieces by these painters in our very own

Summer Show..
Thurs - Sat | 10am - 4pm | Until 10 Aug

A feeling of fear balanced with keen anticipation before I drive over to Suffolk to see Maggi Hambling (one never knows with Maggi how you’ll be received) We have a chat and a cup of tea whilst she carries on with her work, a portrait of Sarah Lucas, when I commented on the group of balls strung together ‘Tits’ she says…I think I’d better keep quiet. Returning replenished with more powerful seascapes and a Triptych of Heron Studies in the back of the car I feel very  well rewarded.
Keep an eye on the Maggi Hambling artist page on our website for an update, or better still visit the Gallery.
A new collection of small Robin Welch paintings arrive back from the framer, so into the stock room to make some discoveries, you’ll be surprised, I was ! All these little gems make up the Little Picture Show on the Bank Holiday Weekend
