Electrical Continuity Tester

DBA18011 - PP3 Battery Included

Specification:

The Fluid Transfer 11801 Continuity Tester is designed specifically to objectively test aircraft refuelling vehicle bonding systems. The integrity of these systems is of paramount importance to ensure that any potential differences between aircraft and vehicle are equalised before a fuelling nozzle connection is made thereby avoiding any ignition risk.

Small multi-meters give precise resistance values but often employ input currents in the order of microamperes and therefore do not effectively measure the bonding system's current - carrying capacity is often impaired due to corrosion, mechanical damage or even lubrication of
slip-rings.

The method of using a 9-volt battery is a good measure for determining the effectiveness of a bonding system as a relatively high current is involved. However, determination of an actual resistance is very imprecise and unreliable due to factors such as battery condition and subjective brightness assessment.

The 11801 Continuity Tester embraces the best features of both methods and gives a simple GO - CHECK - NO GO readout in order that quick and easy objective testing may be undertaken by personnel other than electricians. This is an essential requirement where compliance with quality systems has to be demonstrated.
