Fall Wine Festival

After a wetter than normal spring, the sunshine arrived in August and our vineyards are now on track for what looks like a fantastic vintage. The entire valley eagerly awaits the start of harvest and Hester Creek's experienced team is no exception. In celebration of the harvest, the Fall Wine Festival offers events, dinners, and special tastings throughout the valley from September 28th to October 7th. Here are a few events we have planned at Hester Creek that may pique your interest during the festival.

1st Annual Garlic Festival and Winemakers Dinner - September 29th

Our 1st Annual Garlic Festival takes place on Saturday September 29th between 11:00am and 4:00pm. Our Wine Shop Guest Centre will showcase a vast array of food carts, artisan vendors, garlic growers, and even gelato! We are offering something for everyone. Admission is by donation to our favourite local charity, the Oliver Elementary School lunch program.

Our friendly and knowledgeable wine shop staff will be ready to guide you through tastings and help you select your favourites. To round out your day, book your table at Terrafina, our winery restaurant, and join winemaker Rob Summers at a garlic featured dinner. For tickets, please call the restaurant at 250.498.2229.

Tuscan Dinner - October 6th

For many years, Hester Creek held the traditional and very successful Tuscan dinner within the Wine Shop Guest Centre. Having our well established new restaurant Terrafina, it is most fitting that this year's event takes place on their premises. Executive Chef and co-owner, Jeremy Luypen, will continue this tradition of providing guests with an epicurean delight; a four course, locally sourced dinner, expertly paired with our highly acclaimed wines. New Releases

The 2009 vintage of our iconic Bordeaux style blend, The Judge, will be released in the Wine Shop Guest Centre, and online, on the afternoon of September the 14th! This year's vintage is offered, as usual, in limited quantity. Produced in small lots, this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot will not disappoint your palette. The Judge is approachable now, but will be the star of your cellar for years to come.

One other Reserve wine, and perennial medal winner that merits your attention, is our 2010 Reserve Cabernet Franc Block 3. We will be releasing this vintage at the same time as The Judge. The last vintage of the Reserve Cabernet Franc went Gold and you can expect the same unforgettable flavour profile with our 2010 vintage.

We are pleased to announce that this year we have a limited quantity of both The Judge and the Reserve Cabernet Franc Block 3 in a 1.5 litre magnum bottle. Both options are great for a dinner party, or a show piece in your cellar, and available exclusively in the Wine Shop Guest Centre.
