Unveiling The Shadow Queen
My new novel, THE SHADOW QUEEN, will be out in stores in Canada and the U.S. tomorrow.
It's a wonderful and anxious time for an author, and I have a favor to ask of you.
If you have the time and inclination, please consider getting the word out about THE SHADOW QUEEN on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+, etc.
Most importantly, if you have read and loved THE SHADOW QUEEN, a brief review on Amazon and/or Goodreads would mean a very great deal.
Speaking of reviews and tweets, I mentioned some heart-warming ones on my last blog post: "Curtain about to go up on THE SHADOW QUEEN."
You've seen the book trailer?
Audible edition of The Shadow Queen
An audible edition of THE SHADOW QUEEN will be available tomorrow (Tuesday the 8th) from Downpour, either for download or on CD.
It will also be available in some libraries.
I like the "album" cover. The dress is correct for the period and is very like the one I sometimes wear for readings. ;-)
If you are in North Vancouver … or the Toronto area
My first event is this coming Saturday in North Vancouver at the North Shore Writers Festival. I am looking forward to it!
Then I head to Toronto where I have events scheduled through to the end of the month.
If you come out to any of these, please let me know that you're a newsletter subscriber.
Let's go to the (blog) hop
I'm not exactly going on a blog tour (which is when an author is interviewed or writes a guest blog post on a different blog every day for about a month), but it is certainly going to be a blog hop.
I will soon have guest blog posts appearing on She Reads, Historical Tapestry, Book Browse, The Page 69 Test,
Writers Read, and Meg Waite Clayton's blog, 1st Books.
Yes, I've been busy!
For all us Bookies, both the young and the young-at-heart
BookRiot recently posted a list of great offerings on YouTube that appeal to Book-types, what they call the "booktubesphere":
A Beginner's Guide to BookTube
Lots to explore!
For example, there's a sweet animated video made by the National Film Board of Canada, "The Girl who Hated Books."
If you are a fan of the YA author John Green (as I am), VlogBrothers is kind of irresistible.
There are quite a few book-review sites. I personally am a fan of Ariel Bissett and have just subscribed to ElizzieBooks.
It's great to see the passion for books in these "vlogs"—who said the young aren't reading?
And the winner is …
Pat Maynard!
As some of you already know, I have been giving a book away with each issue to a subscriber (selected at random through Random.org).
It's great fun. As soon as this newsletter goes out, I will select the next winner from the subscription list. I may be emailing YOU!
Hasta luego, à bientôt, until later
As always, thank you so much for your support and encouragement. It means so much!
It's going to be hard for me not to be in Canada or the U.S. tomorrow when THE SHADOW QUEEN appears in bookstores. Take a photo for me please!
