Jacob Jensen Design excites plans to establish a design studio in Southeast Asia. After the succesful opening of Jacob Jensen Design’s Shanghai regional branch, CEO Timothy Jacob Jensen embarks on the next venture.

CEO Timothy Jacob Jensen and regional creative director Marijn Beije present various lectures and workshops around the globe. Most recently, at the Shanghai Design Week 2013.

JACOB JENSEN launches a cookware line including, ‘slow cooking’ pots, pans, and roasting trays made from 6mm aluminium and high grade ceramic coating.

Timothy Jacob Jensen invited as Distinguished Guest at the Shanghai Design Week 2013

In September, Timothy was invited to give a lecture in the Masters's Symposium on Design during this year's Shanghai Design Week. The lecture was on the topic of "Design Inspires Dreams" and attended by over 300 people.

Timothy Jacob Jensen will judge the Chinese Liquor Creative Package Design Competition

Timothy Jacob Jensen will be a guest judge in the Chinese Liquor Creative Package Design Competition and participated in the opening event in August held at the historic Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. The goal of the competition is to bring new ideas to the way traditional Chinese Baiju liquor is sold and marketed to give it a global appeal. The competition be giving away over 1,380,000 RMB in prizes sponsored by the Songhu Wine Company.

Timothy Jacob Jensen meets expert of User Centered Design, Don Norman

Through his participation in the Shanghai Design Week, Timothy had the opportunity to meet Mr. Norman and participate together in a round table discussion about the future of the design industry in Shanghai.

JACOB JENSEN DESIGN is setting out to establish a regional studio in Thailand

Earlier this year, plans to establish a regional design and brand studio in Southeast Asia were revealed.

Former Intern industrial designer Rakpong Songpitak, has been engaged to help develop plans and vision for the regional branch.

Chairman, Lars Kolind appointed as Master at the Beijing DeTao Masters Academy

The chairman of the board at Jacob Jensen Holding ApS, entrepreneur, author and public speaker Lars Kolind, has been appointed Master of Leadership and Strategy at Beijing DeTao Masters Academy.

Lars Kolind, co-authored the book “UNBOSS: Leadership for Today and for the Future” last year.

“The magic moment in Design” by Creative Director, Marijn Beije

Marijn Beije gave a speech at the Shanghai World Financial Centre – one of the world’s tallest skyscrapers located in the Pudong district of Shanghai, China.

Marijn Beije is the Studio Creative Director of JACOB JENSEN DESIGN | DETAO SHANGHAI, and he spoke of “The Magic Moment in Design”.

CEO delivers Keynote at Toshiba Design Centre, Tokyo, Japan.

In early August Timothy Jacob Jensen was invited as a keynote speaker at the Toshiba Design Center in Tokyo, Japan to present "Jacob Jensen Design – Total Design Solutions – A Voyage into the World of Jacob Jensen's Design History and Future Global Vision".

Toshiba has been in close collaboration with Jacob Jensen Design since 2009 designing hardware and software solutions.

Timothy Jacob Jensen lectures at Nordic design event in Ulm

“Timeless, elegant and innovative Nordic design” was the appetizer for a German design event and exhibition, held in June in the city of Ulm and arranged by Abt, a German department store group specialising in household, porcelain and lifestyle.

Group CEO and Chief Designer Timothy Jacob Jensen delivered a keynote on Scandinavian design particularly focusing on Jacob Jensen’s design philosophy and form language. In addition, he took part in a panel discussion on design products and values.

Following the event, Timothy Jacob Jensen went on a visit to the Ulm School of Design (Hochschule für Gestaltung Ulm), which is internationally recognised as being the top school of design for Bauhaus principles.

Søren Essendrop hosts sketching workshop for aspiring designers

In April, automotive design freelancer Søren Essendrop hosted a workshop on practical sketching to a group of 20 students at Jacob Jensen Design’s regional branch in Shanghai.

The hands on workshop was unlike the students regular theoretical lectures.

Diamant coffins on top of the world

In late May, Timothy Jacob Jensen accepted an invitation to the National Congress of Norwegian Funeral Directors in Svolvær, Norway to give a keynote on “Design in Norwegian Funerals”. The event tied in with the launch of the Diamant series of coffins designed by Jacob Jensen for Tommerup Kister in 2010.

The Diamant 32 has since won the prestigious Red dot design award 2011 and gained global press coverage in breakthrough design.

Prior to the keynote in Svolvær, The Diamant 32 was exclusively displayed at KODE Art Museum of Bergen as part of the exhibition “Love & Death” with the subtitle: “How has death been giving artistic expression during the different periods of the visual arts and crafts?”

Latest JACOB JENSEN products

In July the JACOB JENSEN coffee maker was released for the global market. Among other features, the coffee maker brews directly into a thermos, and it has a capacity of 1.2 litres equalling nine cups.

In early August, the JACOB JENSEN alarm clock will be available for purchase in black, white and grey colours. The alarm clock comes with regular quartz clockwork or a radio-controlled clockwork running on the exact time of the atomic clock in Frankfurt.

From this month, the JACOB JENSEN ‘slow cooking concept’ consisting of pots and pans will be available for purchase. The collection is made in 6 mm aluminium with a substantial ceramic coating inside, able to tolerate extreme heat.
