Dear Business Partner,

meteocontrol had a great reason to celebrate last month: 20 years ago the company was founded as IST EnergieCom GmbH and renamed meteocontrol GmbH four years later. It all began with just three engineers – today, the company has more than 150 employees worldwide. We recently opened meteocontrol’s office in Australia, the 11th country around the world where we are represented.

In addition to our 20 years in business, we have more than 40 years of experience in the area of renewable energies. meteocontrol’s roots run all the way back to the solar technology company Ingenieurbüro für Solartechnik (ist) that was established in 1976. As a pioneer in the industry, we introduced the first available measurement and analysis program for PV systems to the market as part of the 1,000 Roof Program.

And we intend to remain a trailblazer! For this reason, we are focusing intensely on enhancing the blue’Log X series – to meet all national and international requirements for monitoring and grid integration.

New KPI: Energy Performance Index (EPI)

With the August 21 release, we will provide you with another important key performance indicator: The Energy Performance Index (EPI) shows the ratio between expected energy (simulation) and actual energy.

You can use the new indicator to monitor the long-term performance of your system. You can use the EPI in graphics, all reports and via the VCOM API.

The blue’Log X series serves as the central components on site to monitor and control your PV system. To ensure that the data loggers can meet rising national and international requirements in the future, we have enhanced the proven X series and redeveloped the Power Control range. In the future, we will offer the models blue’Log XM and blue’Log XC for monitoring and plant control – and thus tailored solutions for every PV project.

  • blue’Log XM (X monitoring)
facilitates the monitoring of up to 100 devices and offers new functions, increased performance and improved usability, including data storage for more than 100 days and single-minute interval values on blue’Log and in VCOM.

  • blue’Log  XC (X control)
is the new plant controller and  the heart of the meteocontrol power plant controller (PPC) for all requirements of grid integration – nationally and internationally. The model-based design plant controller can monitor up to 30 devices and offers features such as a graphical user interface, precise active and reactive power regulation and fixed value and characteristic curve control.

20th anniversary of meteocontrol

With a joyful summer festival, the meteocontrol team joined with families, partners, customers and long-time companions to celebrate the 20th anniversary of meteocontrol in Augsburg.

It was day of fun and entertainment, ranging from an extensive look at 40 years of solar technology to face painting for kids and a table tennis tournament. After enjoying a live band and delicious buffet in the festival tent, the guests celebrated and danced in the premises of meteocontrol until the early-morning hours.
