Enjoy 2 free lunchtime concerts next week Next week, Art Moves, presented by Devon, gives you 2 great excuses to get away from your desk and enjoy the fresh air. On Mar. 21 and 22 at noon, enjoy performances by Accolective, an indie-folk band from Israel (fresh off of SXSW), and Grupo AfroCaribeño, an African-roots drumming and vocal group performing music and dance from Cuba, Puerto Rico and Guadeloupe, including bomba, rumba, gwo ka and more. Both of these performances are taking place on the Grand Lawn at the Myriad Gardens. Bring your lunch and your friends and enjoy! Art Moves presents artistic, daily programming. Cookies & Cocktails Join the Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma tomorrow as they celebrate their 100-year anniversary with cookies and cocktails. The event will take place on Friday, Mar. 16 from 4-7 p.m. at the Myriad Gardens restaurant located next to the Devon Ice Rink. Better Block beautifies downtown OKC Better Block OKC, presented by ULI Oklahoma, is a community revitalization project that temporarily demonstrates how to improve a street with pedestrian and public infrastructure, mixed with art, culture, pop-up businesses and street life. Though comprehensive planning projects are often necessary for developments, the cost, scale, and long-range timelines associated with these initiatives can often lead to a loss in project momentum. Instead, Better Block OKC aims to create quick, inexpensive, high-impact changes that exhibit permanent solutions for areas in OKC. The first Better Block OKC project launches May 18 at NW 7th and Hudson. They're looking for volunteers to spearhead individual projects like:

Elmo makes music in OKC this weekendHave you ever seen monsters making music? This weekend, Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird and more are taking to the stage to share their love of music in Sesame Street Live "Elmo Makes Music." Even adults will hear music they'll recognize and enjoy sharing with children, such as "The Hustle," "You Should Be Dancing" and "Rockin' Robin." Post comedy theater at the Downtown LibraryRobert Post is a brilliant physical comedian with a stunning theatrical mind. Combine a quart of dry humor with three tablespoons of expert mime, versatile acting, and skilled juggling; add a keen sense of satire and the absurd. Blend in splendid timing and experience, and what do you get? A host of unforgettable characters at the perfect comedy feast! Robert's one-man show has been performed in almost every conceivable setting including concert halls, street corners, dinner theaters, prisons, factories, schools, corporate retreats, TV commercials, homeless shelters, festivals, river boats, with symphony orchestras, and more. See him for yourself Sunday, Mar. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Downtown Library. This show is free to the public and recommended for ages 8 and older.
Get Irish at Trattoria St. Patty's Day always brings out the Irish in us. In honor of this great time of year, Trattoria Il Centro will host their Third Annual $25 Beer Dinner on Monday, Mar. 19. COOP Ale Works, of Oklahoma City, will have three excellent brews to go along with Chef Christine's fabulous menu. Their $25 Monthy Wine Dinners will resume on April 16 through the rest of the year.
