Dear Music Lover,

Welcome to the May edition of What’s on at the Con!

This month we have over 30 exciting performances to choose from, including the start of our Jazz Cafe series and a number of outstanding Lunchtime Concerts.

May sees our voice students take centre stage, with a special presentation of The Cunning Little Vixen. Sung in English, it is described as the grown-up opera version of The Lion King, and is possibly the only opera to be inspired by a newspaper cartoon strip. Our Musical Theatre season gets underway with two must-see productions, starting with our third year students in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change - a quirky musical about dating, romance and marriage. Our second year students will be staring in Oklahoma!, the landmark musical and first collaboration of legendary team Rodger and Hammerstein, as well as starting rehearsals for next month’s Con2TheCabaret which is being presented as part of the Queensland Cabaret Festival.

Other highlights of this month include performances by the Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra, Conservatorium Wind Orchestra, the Lyrebird Trio’s final Ensemble in Residence performance for 2014, Divertimenti's first performance of the year, and the conclusion of Green Jam Sessions.

See you at the Con soon!
