	Introducing U Ethical: A new name, same values

I’m writing today to inform you of an exciting evolution of UCA Funds Management. This April, we’re changing our name to

U Ethical – while still upholding the same values that have made us one of Australia’s largest ethical investors. Since our beginning, we’ve been able to deliver financial returns and community impact through our commitment to ethical investment and the Church’s social justice mission. This won’t change.

What has changed however is the opportunity to take our message about ethical investing to a wider audience and demonstrate that you don’t have to compromise your values to generate returns. This in turn will help us grow the annual grant we give to the Church. To date, we’ve granted over $59 million from our operating surplus to community, advocacy and mission programs.

What do I have to do?
Your investments will remain the same as will your account numbers and online portal log-in. We’ll just incorporate U Ethical into each product name. In April our fantastic new website UEthical.com will go live with easy to find information and lots of great stories from the ethical investment sector.

What will happen to my investments?

Your investments will remain the same. The only change will be to incorporate the new brand into the existing product names

Are you separating from the Uniting Church?

No, our ownership structure remains the same. U Ethical will continue as a social enterprise of the Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of Victoria and Tasmania, with an independent board. The Church’s pioneering social justice advocacy work still underpins our ethical framework. And our willingness to adopt bold positions on important ethical matters has always been central to who we are and derives from our origins within the Uniting Church.

Why are you changing your name and logo?

The main reason is to grow the grant which supports community, advocacy and mission programs. To achieve this aspiration, we’re aiming to double the investments we manage, so we must raise our profile beyond our traditional investor base. Our new name will help us reinforce our ethical values and stand out in an increasingly competitive market

Why did you choose this new logo and name?

In the logo we wanted to retain the same colour scheme as a link to our heritage while introducing new design elements to help position us to clients as trusted, principled and connected.

The ‘U’ in our new name alludes strongly to our UCA history and ‘ethical’ conveys our values as succinctly as possible to prospective investors.
