2nd Grade eNews

Don’t forget – NO SCHOOL on Monday. We are out for Presidents’ Day! Thanks to everyone for helping to make our Valentine Party a success. We had a great time!

Next Week

  • Bible - We are continuing to learn about Daniel. This week our focus will be on Daniel 6.
  • Memory Verse - Joshua 1:9, “Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
  • Reading - We will be working on a review unit in Reading. We will focus on the graphic tool “Setting.”
  • Spelling - This is a review unit:  running   clapped   stopped   selling   night   kind   spy   July   happy   pretty   baby   very   car   dark   arm   party   story   shore   born   tore
  • Grammar - Review of long i sounds, y as a long e sound, words with ar, or, ore
  • Math: We will continue working on 3 digit subtraction.

Discover Shiloh Dinner Event

Our Discover Shiloh Dinner Event is next Tuesday evening February 19th from 6:00 pm - 7: 30 pm! This is a great opportunity to learn about Shiloh, hear from our leadership, and visit with current students, families, and teachers. Important Dates

  • The month of February - We will start Pennies for Patients. Our service project this month is to raise money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
  • February 20 - PJ day for $1 NO Onesies
  • February 27 - Free dress modestly (weekend/comfy clothes) $1
  • February 18 - NO SCHOOL - PRESIDENTS’ DAY!
  • February 19 - Discover Shiloh - 6:00 p.m. in Kid’s Theater - if you know of anyone interested in enrolling their children in Shiloh, please let them know about this evening! :)
  • February 22 - Our class will travel to the Springdale campus to see the 3rd grade Wax Museum, have lunch, and have a tour of the school. Students and parents may buy lunch for $4 or bring their own lunch.  I will let you know what the menu is when I find out.
  • March 1 - Morning with Mom/Art Fair 7:30-8:00
  • March 4 - Students may wear spirit dress with a donation to the Teacher Compassion Fund
  • March 6 - Spring Picture Day - Dress up or Dress Code
  • March 14 - Student-Led Conferences after school
  • March 18-22 - NO SCHOOL - SPRING BREAK - SCHOOL BEGINS ON MARCH 25th
  • April 1-5 - This will be the week of TN3 testing – we will test beginning at 8:15 a.m. until lunchtime at 11:00 a.m.  Please do not schedule any doctor or dentist appointments during this week, if at all possible. We do not make up tests.
  • April 28 - Easter and Speech Meet at Cross Church Worship Center at 8:30
