I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all of ac.care’s supporters, partners and funders for the tremendous assistance and encouragement that you have provided to our staff and clients over the past 12 months. This has enabled us to continue to provide opportunities for those most vulnerable members of our community. It goes to show, that if we all work together we can make a real and positive difference to the wellbeing of those for whom life seems an ongoing struggle.

May you all have a safe, happy and blessed Christmas, and I look forward to us continuing to work together in 2013.

Kind Regards
Rob Foggo

Bushfire Safety

Families SA  and ac.care staff attended  a bushfire safety workshop with Vicki Hann from the CFS.

This was excellent information and we thank Vicki and the CFS.

The CFS has many resources to help us all this bushfire season:

Your donations dispersed

The $50,000 from AUSTimber2012 charity auction enabled us to  extend the R&R pilot program we created last year from donor funds - (Re-Energise & Re-Focus).  This involves foster carers coming together to learn about responding to challenging behaviours not normally encountered in parenting. It is facilitated by a clinical psychologist – Ivan Raymond -  who specialises in the affects of trauma and abuse on the brain.

The $30,000 from the  Help Build the Bridge homelessness business fundraising lunch has been used in both the homelessness service and the housing association. We purchased whitegoods, window coverings, a trailer to move clients’ goods,  and provided training and other supports on a case-by-case need.  The raffle goods that were donated back to us the have been distributed to clients and some retained for Christmas hampers.
