"BuildingLink News" is back……. after four years!!

Has it really been four years since we last sent out a BuildingLink newsletter? Our only excuse is, that we've been really, really busy. With over 800 subscribing buildings covering 190,000 apartments across 17 states, I guess you can say we've become a real "presence" in the luxury residential marketplace. Our development continues at a dizzying pace but our newsletter is finally back, to keep our friends and followers up-to-date and in touch. Below are some of the highlights of how our platform has changed. But as we all know, one picture is truly worth 1000 words, so go to www.buildinglink.com and have a look for yourself.

"Secure all hatches" with BuildingLink dashboards and logs

Wouldn’t you like to have more control and knowledge of who comes in and goes out of your building? BuildingLink has created the tools to make your property as secure as possible. Easily accessible PTE, visitor dashboards, and key logs make it uncomplicated for staff to track permitted guests, contractors and keys that are given out and returned. Routine daily incidents and notes that are recorded in the newly introduced Shift Log can be emailed to management daily. The ability to print badges, send email notifications, and use signature and photo capture will enable your building staff to be more efficient and professional.

Are you feeling Neighborly? - Your NeighborNet is at your fingertips

You know what they say about “all work and no play?” Sure, BuildingLink is a great system for your building’s operations, but it is also a fun place for you and your fellow residents to connect. With NeighborNet you can share information about your background and interests via the Resident Directory or post items for sale, look for household help, arrange play dates, find sports partners, or just voice your opinion on the topic of the day. Granular permission options give managers control over content so as to ensure safety and confidentiality. Participating in NeighborNet is a great way to enhance a sense of community among residents.

Go Paperless! - Store Apartment Specific Documents online

Picture the reams of paper you will save when you no longer have to search for important papers in an overstuffed filing cabinet or an overflowing desk. Imagine the convenience and time savings of having an occupant’s lease, correspondences, notices sent, or appliance manuals for any apartment just a click or two away. Typical document management systems could cost $50,000 or more, and require many months to implement. With BuildingLink’s new “Apartment Documents” module you can, at no extra cost, already take advantage of this functionality. Scanned-in or uploaded copies of all types of apartment-specific forms and documents are now easily accessible. You can even define your own document types and set the rules for who can see or update them.

Did You Know?

The Custom Fields function is an amazingly powerful tool for extending your BuildingLink database to store and track exactly what your building needs. You can add text fields or date fields, control who can see or edit these fields, and choose between Apartment Fields, Occupancy Fields, or Resident Fields.

Typical examples of each field type are:
Apartment Fields: apartment size, refrigerator install date, windows guards, last painted date
Occupancy Fields: pets, move-in date, storage locker number
Resident Fields: birthday, waiver signed, fitness center member

The Maintenance Reports section provides you with an excellent birds-eye view of the repair request trends in your building and a way to drill down for a close look at any problem areas. You can track activity by type of repair, by which employee is doing how much, or by how long the request took to complete. BuildingLink Maintenance Reports enable you to compare data from quarter to quarter, and view chargebacks as well.
