Miscellaneous

NAD Public Campus Ministry Overview: Ron Pickell, Adventist Christian Fellowship and NAD Public Campus Ministry Coordinator, with the NAD Ad Hoc Committee, complied this list of research on public campus ministry.
-
100,000 Adventist students are now attending non-Adventist colleges and universities (Roger Dudley and Monte Sahlin (2010). 2009 Congregations Study for the North American Division. Berrien Springs: Institute of Church Ministry).
-
This means that 4 out of 5 SDA students are now on public campuses.
-
22.1 million students are enrolled on college campuses in the NAD - 21 million in the U.S. with another 1.1 million in Canada (Digest of Education Statistics - 2010).
-
With 22.1 million students, which is about the same as the seven largest cities in North America - these campues present a great untapped mission field for the Adventist Church.
-
700,000 international students are now studying in the U.S. alone, with a huge potential for sharing the gospel and taking the message back home (2010 Chronicle of Higher Education).
-
25,000 students attend our 14 denominationally sponsored colleges/universities in the NAD, with 4 of our campuses reporting from 40%-90% non-Adventist student enrollment.
-
Adventist sponsored campus ministry initiatives are connected with approximately 2,500 of the estimated 100,000.
More Info: Contact Ron Pickell, ACF/NAD Coordinator.
Central California Conference Camp Meeting: In July 2012, around 60 youth worked with Kids Against Hunger and packaged 11,500 meals for the hungry in Haiti and Mexico. More Info: Contact Chris Craven or Visit KidsAgainstHunger.org.
