Police Officers to get Body-Worn Cameras
The Palm Beach Gardens City Council, at its January 2016 meeting, authorized the implementation of a Body-Worn Camera program for our Police Officers. The Police Foundation was an early participant in this program, having authorized a $5,000 grant for a pilot program back in September of 2014.
Chief Stepp made a presentation to the City Council on the program and spoke of the comprehensive initiative his agency will undertake which will include development of policies and procedures, training of personnel, additional staffing in both the IT and Records Departments, and establishing a data storage and records management plan.
Through programs such as this, Palm Beach Gardens continues to lead the way in promoting professionalism, accountability and transparency in modern day policing.
You can help us fund future program and projects.
