1700-2300 MHz Discussion Document

RSM is seeking public comment on our proposals for select portions ("sub-bands") of the 1700-2300 MHz band whose management rights (MR) expire on 31 March 2021. To achieve this RSM published a discussion document at the end of February 2020.

Auction of 3.5 GHz management rights (Auction 20)

RSM invites interested parties to register for Auction 20. Key documents for the auction, including registration forms, are included in the Bidder Registration Pack on the RSM website.

Registration forms must be submitted according to the requirements set out in clauses 5 and 6 of the Auction Catalogue.

Registration closes at 4:00 PM on Friday March 13 2020

Call for expressions of interest in FM sound broadcasting licence

An Application has been received for the following FM broadcasting spectrum licence:

  • Pukeuri (Waitaki District) 91.2 MHz, licence ID 210533, reserve price: $1,150 incl. GST.

Radio Spectrum Management is seeking expressions of interest in this commercial FM licence, closing 5pm on 27 March 2020.

Following this, a decision will be made regarding if the licence can be allocated by direct sale or by a competitive allocation process.

Fixed Service bands in New Zealand (PIB 22) Updated

PIB 22 has been updated to reflect changes in availability of additional 500 MHz and 750 MHz channels in the 80 GHz band.

New Radio Microphone Devices General User Spectrum Licences

The current Radio Microphone Devices General User Spectrum Licences (GUSL) 222921 and 222922 will expire on 11 March 2020.

New Radio Microphone Devices GUSL licence number 272800 and 272801 will commence on 12 March 2020.

RSM no longer accepting Kiwibank cheques for annual licence fee payments

From 28 February RSM will no longer be accepting Kiwibank cheques as payment for annual licence fees.  Kiwibank have advised they are going cheque-free from 28
February 2020. Payment made by Kiwibank cheques may no longer be honoured by Kiwibank.
