Carbon Price Claims - A Guide for Business

A price on carbon will be in place on 1 July 2012. Plenty of tourism businesses are already considering or releasing their pricing beyond this date. There may be cost increases as large businesses passing on the cost of their carbon price to smaller businesses but these aren't being quantified now. This puts many tourism businesses in a difficult position.

The Carbon Price Claims Guide is about understanding the legal aspects of making claims about the impact of the carbon price and is focussed on preventing businesses from making false and misleading claims which would get them into strife under Australian Consumer Law.

Acting as a directory for fans of Australia the tab allows users to search for places and events by location, experience and date – and then click through to find out more.

 

Tap into more than 2 million fans by adding your listing today.

Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in Cairns

Tickets are now on sale for the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in Cairns on 2 March 2012.

 

These are the tourism industry’s peak awards with 189 tourism operators competing at the national level, with 26 representing South Australia.

Seasonal Worker Program

The tourism industry has a labour shortage problem. A three year trial with tourism accommodation providers will begin on
1 July 2012 to bring people from Pacific countries and East Timor to support the tourism sector.

 

Tourism employers will need to demonstrate a commitment to employing Australians first, meet Australia work standards and contribute to the workers' travel costs.
