Spotlight On
Are you mentor of the year?

Many thanks to all of our alumni who acted as mentors to our students last year.  We are now looking for our mentor of the year, so if you feel you did a good job, please remind your mentee that they can nominate you by emailing the alumni team.  If you haven’t already completed the mentor survey, please access it here.

Would you Mentor?

Supporting current students through our mentoring programme can be one of the most rewarding ways of keeping in touch and continuing to support DUBS.  If you can spare the time to be a mentor in next year’s programme please would you register your interest by emailing the alumni team? We will then be in contact in the autumn with the link to register for the Scheme formally. A mentoring workshop will be held at Durham and by webinar in early October.  If you are interested, but want to know more, please email the alumni team.

Graham Dietz Cycle Network

Alumni who knew Dr Graham Dietz may wish to support the ‘Trust Pathways’ project, designed to commemorate his enthusiasm for cycling.  The project aims to create a fully integrated cycle pathways network across Durham City to encourage more people to cycle in safety (off-road).

The initial stages are being planned by Dr Karen Elliott’s Project Management students as part of the Master Programme directed by Graham.  You can support the project by signing a petition to encourage Durham County Council to integrate the project with its new traffic management system here.

Contact Dr Elliot to get involved.
Congratulations

Congratulations to our alumni whose contributions were recognised in the Queen’s birthday honours. Further congratulations to all our alumni who graduated on June 25th.
