Slechts 3 weken na het lanceren van de headliner NIGHTWISH en de verhuis naar KORTRIJK, zijn we trots te kunnen melden dat alle VIP-TICKETS verkocht zijn.
Wij houden het aantal bewust gelimiteerd tot 200 om een zeer unieke ervaring te kunnen bieden deze zomer, helemaal ALCATRAZ STYLE.

STANDAARD-TICKETS zijn nog steeds te koop. Er zijn ook nog enkele VIP XL tickets voorhanden.
De tickets zijn gelimiteerd tot 4.000. We hebben nog steeds tickets, maar aan het ritme dat ze de deur uitvliegen raadt de Officer aan om niet te lang te wachten.

Over de Officer gesproken, herinner jullie dat we in de vorige nieuwsbrief melding maakten dat hij gesignaleerd was bij tattoo-artieste Cindy Frey. Daar is nu ook een foto van opgedoken.

De Officer zelf houdt zich hier inmiddels al enkele dagen rustig, het druilerige weer zint hem niet. Vooruitziend als hij is vroegen we hem naar zijn weersverwachtingen voor de komende maanden en hij reageerde prompt met de woorden: 'Hell, it's going to be a long HOT SUMMER!" Kijk, wij geloven hem, maar beloofden onszelf wel dat we hem op 10 augustus zelf achter de tralies steken, mocht er een drup regen vallen. Komt dat zien...

Dit jaar delen we aan de poorten van de Alcatraz Prison in Kortrijk aan iedere bezoeker een unieke ALCATRAZ-PATCH uit. 

Onder onze inmates zitten er heerschappen van verschillend allooi. Zo hebben we ook een ontwerper zitten. We hebben hem aan het werk gezet en onder lichte dwang (onze Wieg Van Judas bovenhalen bleek gelukkig net niet nodig) gevraagd twee verschillende patchen te ontwerpen.

Het is de bedoeling dat jullie zoveel mogelijk stemmen uitbrengen op een patch naar keuze.
De patch die de meeste stemmen krijgt zal daadwerkelijk ontwikkeld worden om vervolgens GRATIS uit te delen aan IEDERE bezoeker bij de ingang van het festivalterrein.

Als we de organisatie van FORTAROCK mogen geloven wordt het een feest, volgende week in Nijmegen. De tickets lopen overigens als een vuurtje...

De organisatie liet Rock Tribune ook weten dat vanwege de uitstekende ticketverkoop en de vrees voor slecht weer het evenement verhuist naar een ruimere indoor-locatie. 

Er werd gekozen voor zaal De Posthoorn in Hamont-Achel. Meer info op de website.

Op 31 mei komt 'Super Collider' uit, het nieuwe album van Megadeth.  Dat is alweer het 14de studioalbum van de invloedrijke metalband, die op volgende maandag, 27 mei in de AB optreden. 

Die dag stuurt Rock Tribune 1 duo afgevaardigde winnaars om de plaat voor te beluisteren in primeur, in Huis 23 in de AB.  En je kan meteen feedback geven aan de band tijdens de meet & greet.  Later die avond kan je ook op het concert aanwezig zijn. Het pakket omvat immers ook 2 tickets voor de show van ’s avonds.

GRASPOP METAL MEETING gaat door op 28, 29 en 30 juni in DESSEL

Nieuw dit jaar is het Graspop restaurant waar je terecht kunt voor barbecue à volonté: uitgebreid groentenbuffet, zalmpapillot, beefburgers gemaakt van het Belgisch witblauw, gemarineerde kipfilets, vegetarische burgers, sausjes, brood, etc.

Het restaurant heeft een beperkt aantal zitplaatsen en je kan aanschuiven in 4 shiften: 11:30 – 14:00 / 14:30 – 17:00 / 17:30 – 20:00 / 20:30 – 23:00

In het restaurant kan je niet met de gebruikelijke Graspop-munten betalen, maar enkel met een restaurantvoucher. Vanwege het beperkt aantal zitplaatsen is het aangewezen vooraf te reserveren. Op de dag zelf zijn reservaties ook nog mogelijk zolang het restaurant niet volgeboekt is.

Een restaurantvoucher kost 30€ (excl. dranken) en kan je vanaf vrijdag 24 mei (16u) kopen via deze link.

Talking about the Officer, remember the last newsletter we mentioned he was spotted at the house from tattoo artist Cindy Frey. The picture turned up herewith.

For the last few days the Officer keeps quiet, he does not like the drizzly weather. The Officer is always looking ahead so we asked him about the weather forecasts for the next few months and he promptly responded with the words: ‘Hell, it’s going to be a long HOT SUMMER!’ Well, we believe him but promised ourselves we will put him behind bars if we see one drop of rain. Come and see for yourself…

This year we will give out a free and unique ALCATRAZ patch for every visitor who will enter the gates from Alcatraz Prison in Courtrai.

Among our inmates we have some very different characters and luckily we also have a designer. So we put him to work under slight duress and asked to design two different patches.

The idea is you vote as much as possible on the patch of your choice. The patch with the most votes will actually be developed and then divided for FREE to EVERY visitor who is entering the festival grounds.

On May 31 Megadeth will release their new album ‘Super Collider’. This is already the 14th studio album by the influential metal band, which will be in concert next Monday May 27 in AB, Brussels.
That day, Rock Tribune will send 2 winners to House 23 in AB to pre-listen the new album. And you can immediately give your feedback to the band during the meet and greet. You can also be present at the concert later that evening because the package includes 2 entry tickets.

In the restaurant you will need a restaurant voucher, you cannot pay here with the usual Graspop coins. Due to the limited number of seats, it is advisable to book in advance.
Day bookings are possible as long as the restaurant is not fully booked.
