The mining and resources sector is doing its part to make 2018 a great year for South Australia, contributing to the economy and jobs which are showing growth and improvement. Mining employment is up more that 40% on a year ago and our data analysis of Mining and Energy jobs advertisements in South Australia show that in the last two quarters of 2017 were both more than 100% higher than a year ago. Not since the days of the mining boom have we seen so many jobs advertised. Importantly they are great jobs, the South Australian Mining and Energy sector provides an opportunity for highly skilled, high paying work and offers a great career. It also makes a huge contribution to our way of life through power to homes, fertiliser to farms and elements that are part of every product we buy! We look forward to continued growth this year and the opportunity and jobs that will be created. I hope to meet and work with many of you during 2018. Phil de Courcey RESA CEO
