Stop for Food Wrap-up

Main Content Inline Small

A huge thank-you to all the individuals and restaurants that participated in this year’s Stop for Food! We’re still collecting the stories and tallying the proceeds, but by all indications, this was the most successful Stop for Food yet! And, as we were about to send this out, we got very exciting news: the Arrell Family Foundation has very generously agreed to match donations collected by Leslieville resto Table 17 ! We're thrilled!

National Volunteer Week, Apr. 10 to 16

Main Content Inline Small

The many programs and events you hear about every month in our newsletter wouldn't be possible without the hard work of the more than 225 volunteers who give their time to The Stop on a regular basis. In honour of the 68th annual National Volunteer Week, we've put together a short set of Stop Volunteer Facts that highlights just how much we rely on our volunteers to keep our wheels in motion.

- Stop volunteers provide more than 20,000 hours of service annually
- More than 40 volunteers lend a hand in our food bank at any given time, helping to distribute more than 13,000 food hampers per year
- Our team of 60 drop-in volunteers served more than 52,000 meals last year
- We recently introduced a new volunteer team to our roster: these new additions help to cook a healthy snack, which is served to more than 100 people on snack days

Happy National Volunteer Week to all volunteers past, present and future. We couldn't do it without you!
