Hi

I sincerley hope this email finds you and your family well.

Many of you kindly ask about our son Harry's battle with Leukaemia, so here's a quick update on how he is going.

It is hard for us to believe it has been close to 2 years since the day Harry was diagnosed, and to be honest, I find it a little difficult to remember our lives beforehand.

The news on Harry is good. He has been crook, had a few extended stays in hospital (which he's a bit sick off) but for the most part he's been well.

Luckily Harry is always a delight to be around and if I can draw a positive from this whole experience, it's that Sharon and I have got to spend more time with him.

In 2 months Harry's daily and weekly doses of chemotherapy will come to a rather abrupt halt. Treatment for Leukaemia is 2 years to the day, from there he is on his own.

Weirdly the end of Harry's treatment comes with some fear for us. The fear of Harry relapsing is real but thankfully very slim. With time we have grown strangely comfortable with the routine of his medications and the predicability of their effects.

Fortunately Sharon and I have this shared sense, or feeling, all will be well for Harry. I remember his Oncologist once saying 'if you get cancer, you want to get the one Harry has and you want to get it at his age'. I keep reminding myself of this.

It's strange to say, and I wouldn't wish Leukamia on any child, but when in the Childrens Oncology Ward, Sharon and I feel fortunate and very conscious Harry's prognosis is far better than many of the kids in there. People are doing it tough.

So give your loved ones a hug, tell them and show them you love them often. We found out the hard way, life can change in a moment, our modern day stresses matter little and relationships is where quality of life lives.

THANK YOU. Thank you.  I'll never be able to repay the kindness and support shown to me and my family. Please know my gratitude and appreciation is immense.  I'm convinced the love shown to Harry and us is a powerful contributing factor in Harry coping so well.

Thank you again for allowing me to share my family life with you and for being a part of my bnatural community.

Wishing you a great day.

Brian Killian
