Highlight: New STEM Track of the Presidential Management Fellows Program

Interested in science policy or working for the Federal Government? The Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program has recently expanded to include a STEM track. The PMF program offers a two-year appointment with leadership development training and upon certification of completion, fellows are converted to permanent or term federal positions with a full salary and benefits package. Individuals are eligible to apply in their last year of graduate school and up to 2 years after their degree is completed. Fellows receive career development during the program, including formal mentorship, training, rotation(s), and networking with senior agency leaders.

Arizona State University Graduate Education is now accepting applications for the Bisgrove Postdoctoral and Early Career Tenure Track Program. The award (sponsored by Science Foundation Arizona) is designed to attract the nation’s best early career scientists and engineers who exhibit the potential for outstanding competence and creativity in their research areas, strong communication skills, a passion for communicating the importance of their research to society, and a keen interest in educational outreach to the community. BioMed Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training Starts September 23!
The Fall RCR training sequence organized by the Associate Dean for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies begins this year on September 23. The overall goal of this course is to review and discuss what research or scientific misconduct is and the impact unethical conduct can cause within and outside of the research community. This course is required for all entering PhD students in the Division of Biology and Medicine, although others, including postdoctoral researchers, masters students, and junior faculty with career development grants, are welcome to participate by making a request to Tracey Cronin no later than September 1. The Department of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Rhode Island is seeking Postdoctoral Research positions (up to 5) in Natural Products, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacokinetics or Molecular Biology in Pharmacology/Toxicology with an emphasis in drug metabolism. The Department is located in the newly constructed state-of-art Pharmacy Building, which houses a highly centralized core facility with a wide range of molecular and analytic instrumentation.

Tenure-track Assistant Professor in The School of Biological Sciences at Louisiana Tech University

The School of Biological Sciences at Louisiana Tech University invites applications for a tenure-track, 9-month, Assistant Professor position. We seek a broadly-trained collaborative applicant that is committed to both research and teaching. Applicants whose research areas include plant biology, developmental biology, and/or toxicology, are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in support of our degree programs, including our environmental science program. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to establish and maintain an externally funded research program involving graduate and undergraduate students.
