As you likely know from following our work, the ReliaCard is a fee-heavy program that charges single parents and the unemployed multiple penalties for accessing their own money. Oregon’s ReliaCard was even given a thumbs-down for its many fees by a national consumer group earlier this year and also criticized in a Wall Street Journal article.
The issue is especially salient right now, as Oregon’s Treasurer is set to renegotiate the U.S. Bank ReliaCard contract in the coming weeks. To find out more, visit faireconomyoregon.org.
